In each included study there was one person who did not complete the study. In all cases, however, we tried to ensure that every person randomised was analysed. The study by Greil 1984 lasted for 7 weeks while Bucci 1971 lasted 40 weeks. The review now includes two studies with 30 participants, published in 1971 and 1984.

For one of these studies we were not able to identify up‐to‐date contact details, and we consider it is very unlikely that we will receive a reply with data so many years later (Silver 1995). One study did not provide any usable data, despite our making contact with the amphetamine addiction treatment authors (Ludatscher 1989). We used the GRADE approach to interpret findings (Schünemann 2008); and GRADEPRO to import data from Review Manager to create ‘Summary of findings’ tables.
Description of studies

Clozapine is a second generation antipsychotic, which blocks multiple receptors, including the dopamine D2 receptors, the serotonin 5-HT 2A and 5-HT2C receptors, histamine H1, adrenergic α1 and M1 to M5 muscarinic receptors 1, 3. Given its unique high affinity for muscarinic receptors, clozapine is at a high risk of cholinergic rebound syndrome on cessation or when switching https://tawhaazinnurain.com/why-do-i-have-bruises-after-drinking-causes-2/ for another antipsychotic 3,4,5. In these cases, medication selection should be guided by the primary and most bothersome phenomenology 18. When dyskinetic movements are the predominant symptom, a VMAT2 inhibitor can be prescribed while monitoring DIP severity.
Table 3.
The square data markers indicate the proportion of individuals with withdrawal symptoms in each study, with sizes reflecting the statistical weight of the study using random-effects meta-analysis of proportions. The blue diamond data marker represents the subtotal and overall proportion and 95% CI. The vertical dashed line shows the overall effect estimate for both target and control together. The number of people per treatment group that did not show an improvement in the symptoms of individuals of benztropine withdrawal more than 50% on any TD scale; ii.
- For binary outcomes we calculated a standard estimation of the risk ratio (RR) and its 95% confidence interval (CI).
- In such study‐based registers, searching the major concept retrieves all the synonyms and relevant studies because all the studies have already been organised based on their interventions and linked to the relevant topics (Shokraneh 2017).
- The longer the interval between reductions, the more comfortable and safer the withdrawal.
- Alcohol withdrawal symptoms appear within 6-24 hours after stopping alcohol, are most severe after 36 – 72 hours and last for 2 – 10 days.
